Our company has officially launched the 2026 UN38.3 Air and Ocean Shipping Certificate renewal and recertification process. However, the issuance time for certificates will vary depending on the project launch date. The relevant details and schedule are as follows:
- Projects launched in October: Certificates are expected to be issued on January 1, 2026;
- Projects launched in early November: Certificates are expected to be issued in early January 2026;
- Projects launched in late November: Certificates are expected to be issued in late January 2026;
- Projects launched in December: Certificates are expected to be issued in February 2026.
About the Air and Sea Freight Certificate
The Air and Sea Freight Certificate is a required document for shipping lithium batteries or goods containing lithium batteries by air or sea. Its purpose is to ensure the safe transportation of batteries or products containing batteries. The Air and Sea Freight Certificate is updated annually in accordance with the annually updated shipping regulations. Its key feature is its " annual validity."
This annual validity means that a certificate issued in 2025 will only be valid until December 31, 2025 (that is, regardless of whether you applied for it in January, May, September, or December, if you applied before December 31, you will need to reapply for the Air and Sea Freight Certificate after that date). This means that shipments starting January 1, 2026, must use the latest version of the Air and Sea Freight Certificate.
